There was this Indian uncle who mowed my neighbour's lawn for just RM 20. Abah paid the uncle because our family used their lawn to put my parents' precious flowers, orchids, cili api and all sorts of green (house under renovation). Unfortunately, the contractor who was responsible and promised my parents that the house will be as good as new in two months failed to keep his promises. So, we decided to move the plants out of my neighbour's ground and arrange them in front of our house.
Back to the uncle, it was drizzling when he found our house. He insisted to do it because he said he needed the money. His machine had been stolen by some stupid person and the one he was using was his friend's. OK. Abah let him do it even though it had started to rain quite heavily. I was in the kitchen, at the sink to be exact washing the dishes thus, I could see him clearly. He plainly ignored the rain and did his job very well despite the bad weather. He didn't even wear safety glasses to cover his eyes. Worse, he had nothing on his hair.
As I watched the uncle, mummy came from behind and said, "Demi 20 ringgit". Oh. Just RM 20? It was sad to actually seeing someone around my abah's age who was willing to do anything to get that amount of money. If you live in KL, your RM 20 can only last for 20 minutes. But this uncle, his RM 20 could probably last for one week.
I imagine myself having no money. What will I do to get RM 20? The only thing that I would do is to dial my parents or kakak's number and tell them that I need money. Literally NOW. The same goes to my siblings. Just dial my parents' number, and off they go to the ATM machine or just through online banking. Easy peasy. Never thought of doing a simple job to earn our own pocket money. All we do is ask our parents. Life is so simple. But not for the unfortunate ones. They work hard. Life is hard for them, not cruel.
Take a look around you and reflect. We always waste our money on unnecessary things. Usually, we spend hundreds and thousands because we WANT that thing. But, do we really really really NEED that thing? Think wisely. Save some for your future. We'll never know what the future holds for us. We might be rich now, but if God's will we can also be among the unfortunates in future. Let's hope not.
So, lesson for today is save your money people!

Agreed... tat's y while we're still young, we need to start planning our future financial.
We wont be able to understand the value of our money until we go through the pain and hassle of getting it.
It's a good thing that we realized this where others dont. Add "Jom Rancang Kewangan Anda" in facebook. He (the author) always provides useful advices in financial planning from time to time.
